I don’t remember where I first heard this vaguely cheeky lesson, but it’s become one of my favourites, and it goes something like this:
Don’t think that you’re so special that you’re the only person who can’t change, grow, meditate, learn new habits, etc.
We can all change whatever we want about ourselves, our lives, the way we see ourselves and our lives, and pretty much anything in between – and there’s nothing that makes any of us different or more special than anyone else and exempt from these possibilities.
Yes, we’re all beginning in different places.
Yes, we all have different “blocks,” obstacles, challenges, and systems to work through.
Yes, some of us have more privilege than others in what is available to us and where we’re starting from (and no, you probably can’t “get as much done in a day as Beyonce” but that’s a rant for another time 😉)
Yes, it’s complicated.
But.
BUT we all have the same human biology that works in the same way with the same systems and the same mechanisms for rewiring our brains, changing our biology through breath, attention, and focus.
We all have the same conscious and subconscious minds, the same energetic bodies and the same meatsuits (lol) capable of the same often miraculous shifts and healing.
We all have the same ability to choose how we relate to a situation or circumstance, to master our own responses and reactions and not let anything outside of us dictate how we feel or what we believe is possible.
It’s my belief that the human experience and system is designed for growth and change, and that’s why so many of us feel so gd shitty a lot of the time – we’re stagnating, stuck wallowing in day-to-day sameness and neglecting our natural desire and need to grow and evolve – and it sucks the life right out of us.
You want to change and grow, because you were designed for it.
Because we were all designed for it.
There is A LOT that is special about you – like A LOT – but it is not that you can’t change or grow out of your current reality or get to your next level.
That’s 100% possible, necessary, and natural.
Got it?
Good.
😉
